Man, I sure received some anti-fan mail regarding yesterday’s knock-down, drag-out no holds barred brawl between Quiznos and Subway.
To those of you who think Subway is better than Quiznos you are entitled to your opinion but let me say this: you are living in a dream world. No way does Subway beat out Quiznos.
The only explanation for your delusions is that Subway employees hacked into your inbox and peppered off round after round of semi-scathing interjections.
Either that, or crack is now somewhat less expensive, ‘cause you seem to be smoking lots of it. Toasted equals better. Period.
Anyway, not much is new. Unemployment is a funny thing. I was hanging out with some friends of mine last night, having a few beers, and I completely forgot that yesterday was Tuesday. I mean, hell, how does one forget a day. They wanted to kick my ass.
I don’t blame them. If I sat in a cubicle all day and had to listen to some shmuck yammer on about how he did nothing all day, I’d want to give him a good kick in the scrotum too.
I spent most of yesterday doing nothing of much use. I woke up, ate breakfast, wrote an entry, went for a run, and killed the rest of my day playing Risk on my computer.
You know Risk, the game of world domination? I am so addicted to this friggin’ game. I love feeling all mighty and powerful as my legions of soldiers cover the globe, massacring armies left and right as I watch with glee. Uh, oh! All of South America, North America, Europe and Africa are mine!
You think you can hide in Australia? Think again, motherfucker.
You think I forgot that little sneak attack you tried to pull on me? Wrong.
There’s nothing like a few good games of Risk to eat up six or seven hours at a time.
Some interesting news on the job front. Last week, I spoke to a recruiter who is looking for a process engineer with experience working in a chlor-alkali plant. Well, since that’s me to a tee, I sent him my resume, so after checking with my references, he’s setting up an interview between the plant manager and me on Friday morning. Woohoo!
So that is indeed good news.
Now I’m off to my parents’ house in Baltimore to pick up my interview suit (which they were kind enough to dry clean) and do some laundry.
